Your Care Specialists

John DeBitetto

John is passionate about helping his patients achieve their rehabilitation and physical performance goals.

John holds a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Simmons University. In 2001, he opened Alpine Physical Therapy & Sports Care in Hawthorne, New York, which he successfully operated for twelve years before moving to Vermont with his family in 2014. In 2019, John opened Alpine Physical Therapy in Manchester Village.

As a competitive athlete, John understands the mental and physical stress athletes experience during competition and while recovering from injury. John played NCAA football at Ithaca College and is currently a die-hard cyclist who competes in mountain bike and road races, such as the Leadville Trail 100 MTB and the Wilmington Whiteface MTB 100K. He is also an avid telemark skier.

Under John’s leadership, Alpine Physical Therapy provides high-quality care to the local community. When he is not caring for patients, you can find John skiing in the winter and biking throughout the year.  He adores spending time with his two children who also love skiing, biking, and the Vermont outdoors.

Kate Townsend

Kate is energized by treating the root cause of her patient’s condition using an integrative therapy approach.

Kate has always had an interest in human movement that came from a love of gymnastics and other sports. She first experienced physical therapy as an observer, when her brother rehabilitated after an automobile accident. This inspired her to become a physical therapist.

Kate received her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Rhode Island. She has worked at inpatient rehabilitation hospitals in both Boston and Washington, D.C., and the sports medicine clinic at George Washington University Medical Center.

Kate lives in Manchester with her husband and three children. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, skiing, tennis, golf, gardening, and reading. She is delighted to be a part of the Alpine Physical Therapy team.

Paola DeBitetto

Paola is the friendly face at the front desk and John’s wife.

As the office manager, Paola loves to help Alpine clients feel right at home during their recovery. She has partnered with John to build a successful and caring physical therapy practice and keeps everything running smoothly.

Paola graduated summa cum laude from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Romance Languages. After three years in the banking industry, Paola decided to take a big leap and move to Rome, where she worked at Alitalia Airlines for ten years.

When Paola is not managing the office, you can find her spending time with family, cooking, baking, or taking long walks on beautiful Vermont backroads and trails. Paola loves to travel and watch her children ski competitively.
